"A descriptive and analytical study of differentials in selected vital and health statistics measures associated with residence in poverty and nonpoverty areas within 19 of the largest cities in the United States for the years 1969-71. Discusses characteristics of births (including birth weight, legitimacy status, prenatal care, and educational attainment of the mother), infant and fetal mortaIity, and deaths due to tuberculosis and to violent causes. Race or ethnic group is used as a control variable in the analysis."
