North Carolina's Mountains-to-Sea Trail : trail guide. Segment 10, Eno River State Park at Pleasant Green Road to Falls Lake Dam by Raleigh / by Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Summary:

The Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) is exactly what its name implies—a 1,150-mile trail that extends from Clingman’s Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Jockey’s Ridge on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. About 680 miles of actual trail or unpaved forest roads or beach—roughly half the planned length—have been completed to date. A series of connectors on bicycle routes and back roads knit together finished sections to span the state. To make it easier for hikers to use the MST, the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail has divided the trail into 18 segments and created trail guides for each segment. The guides give detailed hiking directions, going both east and west; information about where to get supplies, lodging, camping, food, and water along the trail ; and parking locations, complete with GPS coordinates. Whether you want a short walk or hike with your family near your house, a weekend backpacking trip, or a challenging, inspiring trek across the entire length of the state trail, these guides will prove essential. This guide covers nearly 77 miles from Eno River State Park at Pleasant Green Road to Falls Lake Dam near Raleigh. Highlights include West Point on the Eno Park, Penny’s Bend Nature Preserve, and almost 60 miles of trail along the southern edge of Falls Lake.
