Sitting by my laughing fire / Ruth Bell Graham.
Ruth Bell Graham was the beloved wife, partner, companion, and soulmate of the legendary evangelist with a heart of gold and a connection to God that I envy with all my heart. The Grahams' marriage is an amazing example of what marriage might be for those of us who yearn for that kind of partnership. Ruth's poetry is filled with visuals such as personal pictures, trees, leaves, flowers, and biblical quotes. It's not preachy nor written to create such a reaction. Ruth's poetry is a quite testament of faith, love, peace, and happiness from her personal life with Billy Graham. We all know and love Billy Graham not as a typical evangelist but as an extra-ordinary human being. His wife, Ruth Bell, was his rock and this book is a wonderful tribute to an extraordinary lady that some of us have never met but her spirit, her poetry, her love of life, her love of Billy and their marriage as well as their commitments to God and preaching around the world. Their marriage is one of few that I consider to be a rare equal partnership between two people that loved each other in the worst and best of times.
